Mark Becomes Health, Wellbeing and Community Ambassador for Groundwork
Mark becomes the first Health, Wellbeing and Community Ambassador
for Groundwork the environmental community charity. Speaking about his decision to become an ambassaor for Groundwork, Mark said:
“I am both delighted and truly honoured to be Groundwork’s first Ambassador. Parks, recreation grounds, open spaces and greener landscapes are the breathing green lung of the UK. They have a direct positive effect on health, well-being and community life and spirit. I am therefore excited to be championing and promoting these qualities that come by directly re-connecting people with nature and by transforming entire neighbourhoods. I have personally experienced the incredible and life-changing effects that green spaces have on a person’s body and mind. Groundwork really is the community charity with a green heart and I look forward to working with them to safe-guard our essential, existing and yet to be created greener landscapes.”
Groundwork’s national chief executive, Graham Duxbury, added:
“We’re delighted to have attracted someone of Mark’s calibre as our first ever Health, Wellbeing & Community Ambassador. Mark comes with a wealth of experience and also shares our commitment to protecting the future of our parks and open spaces and highlighting the vital role they play in bringing communities together and having a positive impact on their health and wellbeing.
We look forward to working with Mark to take that message to the widest possible audience and encouraging people to take local action.”
Groundwork is the environmental charity with a green heart. They have worked for over 35 years to provide training and create jobs, reduce energy use and waste, re-connect people with nature and transform whole neighbourhoods. Step by step they will go on changing places and changing lives until everywhere is green and vibrant, every community is strong enough to shape its own destiny and everyone can reach their potential.
